Budapest

Over the summer I had the awesome experience of being able to do mission work in Romania but while on that trip along with the rest of the mission team we were able to visit Budapest, Hungary

Hungary’s capital city is actually the combination of two different cities Buda and Pest. The two cities shared the banks of the Danube river until 1896 when the two cities united.

The last Grand Prince of the Hungarians statue in Budapest

One of my favorite places to see was Hero Square which sported statues of all the former Hungarian kings. Stephen the 1st (seen above) was the first King of Hungary and considered the founder of the Hungarian State. He was appointed King on Christmas day in the year 1000 and served as king till he died in 1038. He was born a Pagan but was baptized as a Christian and during his reign as king he implemented the practice of tithing and dispatched many missionaries through his kingdom.

Our Cosmic Neighbor

It still blows my mind that there is a gigantic rock that weighs (theoretically) approximately 7.3476× 10^22 kilograms (which is simply put extremely heavy) rotates around the Earth’s atmosphere and we just thinks it’s perfectly normal.

Contrary to popular belief actually isn’t a “dark side of the moon” because the moon itself rotates on its own axis, the same way the Earth does.

In 1970 a company called Helbros Watches asked a man named Kenneth Franklin to create a watch for astronauts so that they could measure time in what is called “lunations”. For this Franklin he created something known as the “Lunar means solar time” also known as “Lunar time” which he created time zones similar to the time zones on Earth with the only key difference being that the meridians in which these time zones based on are 12-degrees as compared to the Earth’s time zones that are 15-degrees.

Beach Lightning

This is by far one of my favorite shots I got while at the beach this summer. I woke up at about 4:00 in the morning and was out taking photos by the water for about an hour and a half, once it started to rain a bit I decided to take about one or two more shots and this happened to be the last photo I took that morning before it started to pour down rain.

Got this shot at about 5:00am right before it started to pour down rain.

St. George Island (Day 1)

Sorry for taking so long to post these, but our first day on St. George Island was a huge success! After having lunch at the Blue Parrot we headed out on the water in our kayaks and were able to snag a few Speckled Trout.

There are some moments in life where there is absolutely nothing that you an complain about, this was one of those moments.

Heading home after a great day of fishing.

Jeromes first time fishing and he got him a nice sized Speckled Trout.

Ben (my brother) in his natural habitat.

The coolest bird around.
